This is my 1st Crossbow and initially I was going to decide to purchase an Excalibur but the salesman at Dicks Sporting Goods mentioned I had to see the Horton Vision 175 before producing my Choice. Being a woman weight and balance had been an concern for me since most Crossbows are definitely front end heavy. Which makes you wobble a lot more on your shot. The vision is nicely balanced an you could really hold it with a single hand and shoot if you had to. When I shot it at the indoor range in the retailer the only issue I heard was the arrow hitting the target. Rather Quiet. The width of the bow is also rather compact and simple and easy to carry. You won't be banging it around like you would other bows. I was sold and came home with one particular.
My husband who was fairly sceptical about a crossbow actually liked the look and really feel of it when I brought it house. I took it out to shoot and sight it in I began at 20 yards and zeroed it in. I then moved the target out in ten yard increments all the way to 50 yards and it was still dead on. I envision it would have shot farther if I would have attempted but I am not going to even take a 50 yard shot with it so there was no point. The scope is certainly good too! it will illuminate Green, Red or Plain black. My husband was so impressed we purchased a second Horton Vision 175.
Created IN THE USA in KENT,OHIO. A word about Horton Buyer service. We accidentally dry fired one. DO NOT EVER DO THAT! Like I mentioned it was an accident. Nicely it busted the key string, bent the left cam and GOd knows what else that my eyes could not inform. I took it to the retailer exactly where I purchased it. They shipped it to Horton. Horton Relpaced almost everything on the bow except the aluminum Rail and scope at NO CHARGE! that is correct new limbs strings cams and even a new stock zero cost of charge. They even paid all the shipping to the factory and back to the retailer. Horton has won our loyality and our home business for life!

A single issue I have learned before acquiring this crossbow.... no matter what crossbow you look at, you will identify a negative rating on the internet someplace. You are not going to locate a crossbow with out a unfavorable rating someplace on the net, impossible. I did about five months of study and 1 month of shooting at a handful of shops in my area (central PA) ahead of ordering this from Amazon. The Vision 175 is the ideal balanced and most functional crossbow. It is quite little when "armed" (not working with the other word). The reverse limb design is amazing, a lot of folks see it and it just appears mean. It is not the fastest shooting crossbow on the marketplace, but it should not be all about FPS anyway. A lot of producers lie about their FPS just to get a sale. This bow is solid, precise, and deadly. Out of the box, I hit a 3" pattern at 50 yards. Yes, 50 yards on the low crosshair (there are 5 in the scope). Maintain your string waxed and your rail lubed, and this will final forever. Fine luck.
